PRIVATE 1-1 YOGA & Somatics

A great way to get started if you're new to yoga and somatics, and unsure about joining a group class. If you have a disability, illness or condition that causes pain or discomfort, limits your ability to move, or affects your energy, private classes are often the way to go! 


Through a blended approach to wellbeing, I provide a bespoke service for each of my clients that considers individual needs, ability, life experience, as well as what you have going on in your life right now. Our work together will include a personalised combination of the following:


Yoga, somatics, meditation, pranayama (breathing practices), and deep rest. 


My specialist area of training (and personal experience) has led me to focus on managing, and healing from: 


• Stress, burnout, overwhelm, exhaustion

• Chronic fatigue syndrome and ME

• Fibromyalgia

• Unexplained / generalised aches and pain

• Anxiety and / or depression

• Trauma and PTSD

• Insomnia & other sleep issues

for adults with limited mobility, post-surgery or -illness

1-2-1 Adapted Yoga

Adapted yoga combines body, breath and mindfulness practices that benefit adults who are unable to access a typical yoga class. 


Many of my clients have limited movement, but through yoga, they are offered freedom and support to move as their body needs, without imposition, to release tension held on every layer of their being.


Being in a truly relaxed state allows the possibility for deep rest and healing to occur, and for the whole system to become regulated. When your nervous sytem is calm, there is potential for better sleep, digestion and immune fuction, and less pain, anxiety and depression. 


In this way, adapted yoga is suitable for adults of all ages and abilities, including those living with conditions such as dementia, arthritis, disability, stroke, Parkinson’s, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue / ME, or recovering from surgury or illness. 


Practices are accessible, adaptable and effective for everybody, and can be floor- or chair-based, according to  individual needs. No experience of yoga needed!

I provide private adapted yoga sessions via Zoom, or in the comfort of your own home.

Chair yoga

Chair yoga is suitable for everyone, especially those with balance issues, mobility issues, and/or stiffness and pain. It's a great way for groups of people with varied movement experience and health concerns to practice, or when space is limited, for example in the workplace or at events. 


Benefits of chair yoga include, improved strength, flexibility and balance, better concentration, a good- mood boost, and less stress, anxiety and pain.


My classes include:


- a seated yoga practice to gently stretch and move your body with kindness and awareness 


- variations of stretches and poses so that you can practice in the most beneficial way for you  


 - an invitation to become present and reconnect with your body 


- a simple breath practice to feel more calm, relaxed and grounded


- simple meditation and mindfulness to support your emerging journey of self-care as a necessity, rather than a luxury
