About Me

My story

I founded Holistic Life in 2016 after returning from 17 years of living and working in several countries around the world. Early in my travels I discovered yoga and quickly fell in love with the practice, despite being completely inflexible myself. As my practice developed, I felt the impact it had on the rest of my life and began to understand that yoga is so much more than just “doing the poses” for a set amount of time - it is in fact, a way of life. You cannot do yoga; yoga is a way of being.

I am not a dancer, nor have I ever been especially athletic or enjoyed sport, so it’s safe to say that I am not “made for yoga”, but 21 years of practice have shown me that yoga is less about contorting your body into difficult positions, and more about the development of self-awareness, and being completely present in the moment – both on and off the mat.

Whilst living in Vietnam, I spent a great deal of time teaching yoga, as well as volunteering at an orphanage for children with disabilities. This experience led me to university in England to study Conductive Education (CE) - a method of learning for both adults and children who have neurological motor disorders, that aims to maximise ability to move, to actively participate in activities of daily life, and to maintain, or work towards, independence.

Fast-forward to the present day and I now have a BA Honours degree in Conductive Education, over 1,500 hours of yoga training - including specialist training for managing stress and related conditions, and for children who have cerebral palsy and PMLD - and a second degree (level) in reiki. I specialise in helping adults, children and organisations to embrace a holistic approach to wellbeing, creating space for you to find grounding, presence and connection, no matter what life brings your way.
