My work with adults

Life has never been more busy and stressful than it is today. Our awareness is constantly pulled to people and things outside of us, there never seems to be enough time, and we end up ignoring our own wants and needs. We are left feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, burnt out, anxious, stressed or in pain.

We often use food, sugar, alcohol, excessive exercise, TV, social media etc. to help us “relax”, inadvertently placing even more demands on an already overstimulated nervous system. Unexplained aches and pains are very often our bodies’ way of drawing attention, sending us the vital message that we’re out of balance on some level, and something needs to change.

My clients are commonly managing conditions and related symptoms that include:

  • Stress, burnout, overwhelm;
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME);
  • Fibromyalgia;
  • Unexplained / generalised aches and pain;
  • Anxiety and / or depression;
  • Insomnia & other sleep issues;
  • IBS & digestive problems;
  • Rheumatoid or osteoarthritis;
  • Thyroid problems; and
  • Pregnancy

    My classes are an invitation to begin unravelling the layers of tension, worry and overwhelm that keep the nervous system on high alert, and to ground and reconnect with your body. There is no competition in yoga – each time you come to the mat is a different day, a different time, a different season. Instead of starting from where you left off in your last practice, start from where you are in the present moment. Get in touch if you’re not sure where to start.

    With physical-distancing still in place, I am teaching online for now (via Zoom or Skype).

    Reiki and distance healing

    Reiki is a Japanese technique that helps to relieve stress, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and pain, through deep relaxation. It’s particularly blissful at those times when you feel overwhelmed and completely exhausted by everything going on in your life – you don’t have to do a thing except lie down, close your eyes, and breathe…

    With so much going on in our lives time to relax has become a luxury, but it is actually vital for our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

    Taking just a few minutes everyday to soothe the nervous system allows the resting and healing functions of our body to work properly. This means, amongst other things, better quality of sleep, improved immune function and digestion, relief from aches, pains and muscle tension, more energy, less anxiety, and clearer thinking.
